Synopsis

"THE POWER OF BLACK LOVE: HOW TO LOVE A BLACK WOMAN", is replete with music, drama, comedy and an outstanding ensemble cast: "Comedy with a message that speaks from heart-to-heart" is Playwright, Rene' Margary's self proclaimed brand of theater. It provides poignant moments, while raising thought provoking questions.

The story centers on a struggling husband who has lost his identity and is beginning to lose his wife to her destructive, abusive drinking habit.  Though he's supported her through medical school, she has an obvious problem with supporting his current endeavors.  She is a female psychotherapist who holds an annual two-day symposium in which the registrants (6 women) have come to learn how to love themselves more and connect with their inner child.  They are there to focus on some childhood issues that may be affecting their adult-hood lives.  They are encouraged to hash-it-out in order to facilitate healthier beings.  Ironically they discover that the facilitator has a few issues of her own.

As they embrace self-acceptance, they learn to respect cultural differences and form camaraderie by exposing their issues and coming to terms with them.  They find the dynamics within the group to be the

true "facilitator,” as they free themselves of their emotional baggage, they find the dynamics within the group to be the true “facilitator”.

The Power Of Black Love: How to Love A Black Woman", is a touching story where through the will to understand ourselves, we learn to be a little more supportive, a little more understanding and tolerant of one another. We also learn that respect is imperative in a relationship. It's a porter's job to carry luggage, let's not make our mate the porters of our residual souls. Men let's show a little more sensitivity realizing what our women have gone through. Allow her to feel secure in knowing that you'll remove any obstacle to get to her.

What is "The Power of Black Love"? Could it be loving and accepting ourselves just the way the grand creator made us. Come find out and join us for an exciting evening of fun filled laughter and hilarious comedy.
